Film Training

Practical, hands-on, project oriented film training offers students a real-world understanding of the physical elements involved in filmmaking.

John Holbrook, the owner of Movieskills, is currently teaching Film Studies at Royal Roads University, Victoria BC, Canada.  The Short Film Production course offers 8 x 2 hour One-on-One online video conferencing sessions that will guide you step by step through the filmmaking process.

John Holbrook has worked in the film industry for over fifty years.  He has written, produced and directed TV Commercials, Corporate Sales and Training Videos, Music Videos and Dramatic Short Films.  As a Director of Photography and Camera Operator, John has worked on many Feature Films and TV Series.  John has taught at four film institutions in British Columbia where he also instructed his own film workshops.
