"John Holbrook is hands-down one of the best teachers I've ever had, in any subject. He is committed to cutting the crap and getting straight to what was most important. He believes in his students and will always level with them if he thinks there's room for improvement. If you want to gain a ton of practical knowledge fast, I can't think of anyone better"

"I spent a year under John's guidance. As a cinematography teacher he is outstanding. I should mention that as a student, my cinematography skills were mediocre at best and yet John's desire to teach me and help me be successful never wavered. If I showed a twinge of enthusiasm John gave it back ten-fold helping me struggle through with encouragement, understanding and patience. Above all of this is John's ability to strike a balance between fun and serious hard work. He made me a better filmmaker."
